Antarctica
Antarctica is Earth’s southernmost continent, a vast and icy wilderness that surrounds the South Pole. Covered almost entirely by ice, it holds around 70% of the planet’s freshwater and experiences some of the harshest conditions on Earth. Despite its extreme climate, Antarctica is home to unique wildlife like penguins, seals, and seabirds, and plays a critical role in global climate regulation. It remains one of the most remote and least explored regions, protected by international treaties that preserve its pristine environment for scientific research and conservation.
